The Winning Team member redefines Atlanta hip-hop.
For months now you have heard me speak highly about J-Coop of The Winning Team and his Good Day ATLanta LP. So much so that people have said, “bro you must have something invested in this project?”. Well the truth is I do. Yes I helped with the production on the album and yes me and Coop worked closely to make this project what it became, but on top of all of that, I believe in J-Coop. This guy has a vision for his music and knows the exact direction he plans to go and I believe he will get there.
This Good Day ATLanta project is simply a solid body of work that gives you the nostalgic feeling of why you fell in love with Atlanta hip-hop in the first place. Coming in at 10 tracks and right at 35 minutes, Coop decides to get right into the project and ask the question “WTF Happened To ATLanta”? From there we take a ride through the day of the life of an Atlanta emcee as he explains why we should all appreciate life on “I’M RICH“. He then have something for those naysayers who think that Atlanta is all about skinny jeans and tattoos on “Yeen Eva Seen“, but quickly brings it back down to pimping on the first official single from the project, “Iceberg Slim“. My personal favorites is “Fo Da Souf”, produced by Shawn Hosea, who also worked on two other records on the album and “Who” produced by Spooks McGhie.
There is so much food on here for the soul; that is if you’re willing to sit down at the table. Pull up a chair and vibe to the sounds of J-Coop below.
