Respect the journalist.

According to Wikipedia, a journalist is a person who collects, writes, or distributes news or other current information. So why are they so important to culture and especially hip-hop? Well for today’s podcast we go into that and explain why you shouldn’t take journalist for granted.

We are joined by world renowned Atlanta-based culture journalist, Maurice Garland. He talks his journey into journalism and why hip-hop is stitched in his fabric. He takes us along the ride while discussing writing for Rolling Out Magazine, Billboard, Ozone and more, while breaking down how to pitch your ideas and protect them.

We also got into some talk about his book The Art Behind The Tape, co-wrote by DJ Mars, Djibril Ndiaye and Tai Saint-Louis. Definitely a dope convo.
