SaxKixAve Delivers The Perfect Fusion Of Bars, Live Instrumentation & Comedy To Atlanta

/

It’s a cold Friday night in Atlanta, with little to no one on West Peachtree Street. I check my watch, and it’s nearly 10 p.m. My first thoughts? Hopefully, I won’t miss this SaxKixAve set tonight at Vinyl. I walk in, and to my surprise, there’s a room full of people, and the band 12Eleven is on stage killing it. I let my guy, Alfred Banks, know I was in the building and waited patiently for SaxKixAve to hit the stage.

It’s now 10:15 p.m. and it’s time for the show I came to see. To my surprise, this was not the show I expected. With my drink in hand, Albert and Alfred hit the stage and to my confusion, they ran right off only to come back moments later with a bit of an outfit change. With Xavier Molina holding down the drums, SaxKixAve put on a hell of a show that stretched all emotions.

We laughed at the comedic moments throughout their set. Jump for joy during a hip-hop medley with their renditions of classic theme songs like Martin, Fresh Prince, and Super Mario Brothers. Danced to their jazz-house-infused jams and even managed to get a surprised guest with XXL Freshman Mickey Factz.

The highlight of the night was when Albert asked everyone to hold up random objects, and Alfred proceeded to freestyle flawlessly. The duo finished the night off with their classic single “Cheeks” and thanked everyone for coming out.

Overall their performance had something for everyone, and even at times when it felt like a lot was going on, somehow at the end of the night, it all worked. We highly recommend catching them live and grabbing some merch. As for me, I have a limited-edition signed gold vinyl in my collection.
