Gone Wallace: Highway 35: The Prelude (EP)

highway 35

As Gone Wallace continues to work on his upcoming untitled full length album, the Philly emcee decides to let go of his heartfelt EP, Highway 35: The Prelude.

Its a reminder of whats important. Highway 35 is where my grandparents live and have lived since I could remember. A year and half ago (during the summer of 2012) I lost my grandfather and durung the time leading up to that I knew he was sick, so I was planning to go visit; however I got caught up in work and planning a vacation. Life completely changed for me when I got the call about his death while at work…

But this prelude is a sonic reminder to focus on things that are truly important. My grandmother still lives on Highway 35 and despite the aforementioned loss I do not visit as much as I should. This is due to my focus on things that arent truly important or real. (I.e. money spent on trivial/materialistic things, striving for superficial and ungenuine approval, etc) and this guilt haunts me everyday. So this prelude exists not only to provide insight on the album and make it easier to understand and enjoy but also to remind me to value the borrowed time that we all have, one of the only real things we have…

Relax and Listen after the jump.
