It’s been a little while since I had something worth writing about, but this here deserved a piece on the blog.

I am allergic to wack rappers at music showcases but I am happy to report that I didn’t get sick from the ratchet-ness.

On Sunday, August 11th, I attended “Brooklyn BBQ” hosted by @ADTheGeneral & @GlobalThugz!!! The invite was given to me from Kejuan “Dat Dude” Johnson (@international_juan).
I had no idea I was getting into something that felt like the heart of the #HipHopMovement.

I felt myself go back in time, when the conception of the genre was still innocent & pure & solely about the music. I saw what its really about now. It’s all about building businesses, entrepreneurship, family, love, and the love of the music & the movement. Most importantly, it was about knowing where it all came from & understanding where it’s going. ADTheGeneral mentioned “…paying homage…” which is extremely lacking with those working to get in. It was education and the real ness; up close & personal.

I was in the aura of #HipHop #Talent, #Legends & #Culture. I played witness to a number of performances. #Talent & #Legends, such as, producer & R&B singer,@officialhitman, @demedman, who did his thing…really had my head bumping, “#HopeBoyz” own, @HakimGreen, who left the biggest impression on me, #Kelo of GlobalThugz, who’s supported me from day 1 and of course #ADTheGeneral had to get her hustle & flow on. They all did their thing.

It was hip hop at its finest. Other majors were also in attendance. I was able to meet #TerorSquad’s, #TonySunshine,(@tonysunshinebx) #RadioHost & #Rapper, #Sinosoulz, (@hiphop_inthaflesh) upcoming artist @mula_lansky, #radiohost & #model @sauceydabody, #producer & #entrepreneur @mikeyjaymusic and many more. It was clearly an event dedicated to hip hop. Definitely have my support & I can’t wait to attend the next event.
