The catalyst behind Outkast speaks to Frannie Kelley & Ali Shaheed Muhammad
This is a bittersweet moment listening to this interview with Organized Noize. I should have been there in the building when this conversation was taking place. I couldn’t make it but thankfully the cameras and mics were rolling as Rico, Sleepy and Dre gave us the history behind so many classic records that shaped my life.
Frannie Kelley & Ali Shaheed Muhammad of NPR Microphone Check asked all the right questions and allowed them to fully tell the stories behind Outkast’s Southernplayalisticadillacmuzik, Goodie Mob’s Soul Food, TLC’s “Waterfalls” and more.
Mid way through the conversation Big Rube and Big Boi joined the stage to share there moments of creating with Organized Noize. Check out the full interview below.
