Toronto’s Own M.I.D. Is Ballin’ On His New Single “Sell Out”

/

Hoop dreams.

Growing up I was a huge Michael Jordan fan, but I mean who wasn’t though if you were born before 1990. From jerseys, to begging my parents for shoes, to the plaque and posters that hung in my room for years, it was all about that number 23. So when I hear a song from Toronto native M.I.D. of him screaming out “when I started ballin I wanted to be Jordan”, I can totally relate.

He calls the single “Sell Out” and describes it as an allegory. Now for those of you (myself included) that is not really certain the meaning of the word, wikipedia describes allegory as a literary device or as rhetorical device that convey hidden meanings through symbolic figures, actions, imagery, and/or events, which together create the moral, spiritual, or political meaning the author wishes to convey.

Now I know you didn’t expect to get a lesson on literature, but hey we trying broaden our reach a bit. Anyway head down bottom and check out M.I.D.’s “Sell Out” and if you digging it, you can head over to iTunes to support.
