Meet this week’s Sunday Spotlight Allen Thomas.
As I sit here in my pjs watching the NBA playoffs, one can only reflect back on the past 24 hours for me. We once again put on a dope show with the homies over at The Winners Circle and even though there were a few mishaps that will forever remain nameless, we remain positive because we know there is a job to be done. So with that being said this week we take a trip to the east side of Atlanta, Decatur to be exact, where we find a gentleman with bold character and dope rhymes. Lazies meet Allen Thomas.
Now I’ve heard his name for quite some time now (most recently on J-Coop’s “20 East“), but last night was the first time I had the opportunity to see the madness live in living color. Sporting his trademark frames and a gap-tooth smile, along with a box full of t-shirts stage right, Allen Thomas and his DJ rocked the crowd giving us raw hip-hop at its purest form.
Mr. Thomas catalog is consistently growing, most recently with his Little Earth: Lazarus EP. The project is the first of his “Little Earth” series and is based around Lazarus: a man frustrated with a life spent in procession and mundane living.
