Meet this week’s Sunday Spotlight Alfred Banks.

Way back in 2013 I was introduced an New Orleans emcee on a record titled “D.A.I.Y.L.F“. Now back then I had no clue who the artist formerly known as Lyriqs da Lyraciss, but one thing was certain, this guy had something special and the music showed it. Lazies meet Alfred Banks.

Banks changed his name earlier this year — something that he spoke on in detail after catching up with him last year at A3C. It was 2am and I had just left from watching Vic Mensa, Casey Veggies and Dyme-A-Duzin.  Alfred and I sat down in the lobby of The Crown Plaza Hotel and gems proceeded to flow.

I was reminded once again of this guys grind a couple of days ago when I ran into him again at A3C randomly at Space 2. As always we chopped it up and for there it hit me…this guy has never been one of our Sunday Spotlight artist. Honestly I was upset with myself. We’ve been covering him for a while now and are truly fans of what he does.
