Meet this week’s Sunday Spotlight Jay Dot Rain

Today has been one of those days where I found myself truly taking some time to relax and enjoy the pleasantries of life. After waking up to thunderstorms, I made my way to the store to grab a few things for brunch for the misses and myself. As time goes by and my stomach is full, I get that itch again for honestly one of my favorite features of the week, Sunday Spotlight. Why you say? Well its simple…I love showing some shine to who I think is dope and moving in this industry.

This week we shift our focus on an Alabama native who I first seen perform about maybe 4 or 5 months ago now at a showcase at the Department Store here in Atlanta. It was his clever use of a Wu-Tang sample that caught my attention and by the end of his performance, he had me hooked. Lazies meet Jay Dot Rain.

Having released his The Dixie Renaissance LP less than a week ago, that record has pretty much been all I’ve listened to. This guy has something to say and for those of you that really know me, knows that will get me every time. I’m a sucker for good lyrics and dope production and Jay Dot Rain’s catalog fully encompass that.
