That name is Terrace Martin. Some of you should know the name already as Terrace has been in the game for a while now, making his first major placement on 213’s The Hard Way. Though I’m not 100% sure when him and Kendrick first connected, I do remember him landing on Section 80. If that is indeed the true genesis, then we should be thankful for whatever brought them together.

In addition to working on Section 80 and K.Dot major label debut, good kid, m.A.A.d. city, Terrace has continued to hit the road with Kendrick playing the multiple of instruments at his disposal. Whether it was live at the Grammys with Imagine Dragon or Saturday Night Live, Martin always seems to find himself in the background with horn in hand. Around that same time we slowly started to hear about this new music Kendrick was working on and even though we didn’t have a clue how things would sound, we had a good barometer with GKMC.
